WiFi Device Scanning
Pulse Home scans your local network and automatically discovers your HomeKit devices. No manual setup. No IP addresses to track. Your devices show up instantly. Whether you've got smart lights, door locks, cameras, or thermostats, Pulse Home sees them and brings them into your automation ecosystem.
Rule Builder
The heart of Pulse Home is our visual rule builder. You don't write code. You drag conditions together:
- When device X reaches state Y
- AND time is between morning and night
- AND I'm home (using geofencing)
- THEN turn on device Z, pause for 30 seconds, then adjust brightness
Rules are simple to read, easy to modify, and powerful enough for complex automations. You can build conditional logic without touching a single line of code.
HomeKit Integration
Pulse Home is built for HomeKit. It integrates with your HomeKit setup seamlessly. Any device HomeKit can see, Pulse Home can automate. Any automation you create stays synced with HomeKit. You're not moving to a proprietary ecosystem—you're extending HomeKit with intelligence.
Advanced Automation: Webhooks and Geofences
For power users, we added webhooks and geofence triggers.
Webhooks let you integrate third-party services. When a rule triggers, Pulse Home can send data to your own server, IFTTT, or any webhook-enabled service. Imagine receiving a notification on your phone when your automation fires, logging the event to a database, or triggering actions outside your home.
Geofencing takes location into account. Pulse Home monitors your iPhone's location and can trigger rules based on your proximity to home. Leave the house? Your security camera activates. Approaching home? Lights turn on. All privacy-respecting, all local.
A Complete Ecosystem: Pulse Home + Pulse Guard
We're building an ecosystem. Pulse Guard is our companion app for security monitoring. Together, Pulse Home and Pulse Guard create a complete solution: Pulse Home handles automation and rules, while Pulse Guard handles detection and alerts. They work together seamlessly, sharing context about your home's state.
Why macOS With Swift and SwiftUI
We chose macOS and Swift because they're the right tools for the job. Swift gives us performance and reliability. SwiftUI gives us a beautiful, responsive interface. macOS as the platform means Pulse Home runs on hardware you already own, integrates with your Mac's capabilities (wake timers, scheduling, notifications), and leverages HomeKit integration that Apple has baked into the OS.
Building on macOS also meant we could access local network APIs that other platforms restrict. We can discover devices, communicate with HomeKit, and handle webhooks—all running securely on your home network.
