Fenno ("the App") is developed and operated by Umay.dev ("we," "us," or "our"). We built Fenno with a foundational commitment: your voice data never leaves your device. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App processes, how it is handled, and the rights you have over it.

1. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Fenno iOS application. It covers the data the App processes on your device, the limited information communicated over the network, and your rights as a user. This policy does not cover third-party services (such as Apple's App Store) that have their own privacy policies.

Fenno processes the following categories of data entirely on your iPhone, using on-device machine learning models. None of this data leaves your device.

When you initiate a recording session, Fenno captures audio through your device's microphone. This audio is processed in real time by the following on-device components:

3.3 Local Data Storage

All processed data is stored on your device using Core Data (SQLite) with Apple's NSFileProtectionComplete encryption. This means your data is encrypted whenever your device is locked and protected by your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. The stored data entities include recordings, analyses, speaker segments, person profiles, weekly reports, and daily snapshots.

4. Limited Network Communications

While the core functionality of Fenno is entirely offline, the App makes a small number of network requests for the following purposes only:

No audio, transcripts, insights, speaker data, or any content generated through the App is ever included in network communications.

5. Subscription & Purchase Data

If you subscribe to a premium layer or make a lifetime purchase, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit 2. We do not collect, process, or store your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID credentials.

We may receive anonymized, aggregated subscription analytics from Apple (such as total subscriber counts or renewal rates) through App Store Connect, but these do not identify individual users.

6. Microphone & Permissions

Fenno requires access to your device's microphone to function. You will be prompted to grant microphone permission when you first attempt to record. You can revoke this permission at any time through your iPhone's Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone. Without microphone access, the App's recording and analysis features will be unavailable, but you can still review previously generated insights.

Fenno does not request access to your contacts, photos, location, camera, calendar, or any other device sensors or data stores beyond the microphone.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

7.1 Retention

Data is retained on your device for as long as you choose to keep the App installed and do not manually delete it. The free tier retains analysis history for 7 days. Premium layers offer extended or unlimited history depending on the subscription.

Because we do not store your data on any server, we cannot recover deleted data. Deletion is permanent and irreversible.

8. Children's Privacy

Fenno is not directed at children under the age of 18 (or the age of majority in the applicable jurisdiction). We do not knowingly process data from children. If you believe a child has used the App, the data exists only on the device and can be deleted by removing the App or using the in-app deletion feature.

9. Third-Party Services

Fenno does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or data collection services. The App does not contain advertisements. The only third-party interaction is with Apple's App Store for subscription management, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

The App's animated fennec fox mascot is rendered using locally stored Lottie animation files and does not make any network requests.

Because Fenno processes all data on your device, there are no international data transfers to consider. Your data remains in the jurisdiction where your device is physically located. This architecture inherently satisfies data residency requirements across all jurisdictions.

Important: Many jurisdictions require one-party or all-party consent before recording a conversation. You are solely responsible for understanding and complying with the recording consent laws in your jurisdiction. Unauthorized recording may carry civil or criminal penalties.

Fenno does not determine or verify whether appropriate consent has been obtained. The App is designed as a personal self-improvement tool and is not intended for covert surveillance or unauthorized monitoring. We strongly recommend informing all participants before recording any conversation.

16. AI Transparency

Fenno uses artificial intelligence models that run entirely on your device. We believe in transparency about how these models work:

No AI model in Fenno sends data externally, receives remote updates to its parameters, or trains on your personal content.

17. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Fenno is a native iOS application. It does not use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, or any browser-based tracking technologies. The App does not contain any advertising SDKs, analytics frameworks, or user tracking tools.

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or applicable legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or via the App Store update notes. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page indicates the date of the most recent revision. Your continued use of the App following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
